Level 1: Pilates Mat

September 27, 2018 By

150 hours

**THIS PROGRAM IS OFFERED LIVE ONLINE VIA ZOOM IN 2021**

Pilates Level 1: Mat lays the groundwork for our entire Pilates Comprehensive Track and is delivered in four modules. This program may be taken individually, as part of a combined program with Level 2: Pilates Reformer or as a full 3-level comprehensive program. In addition to covering the historical roots of Pilates, you learn key movement principles and 75 mat exercises that build from the Body Harmonics® Foundations to the advanced Pilates classical repertoire. Our step-by-step cueing formula™ and foolproof approach to building exercise sequences are included to help you learn how to teach Pilates so that it is both accessible and challenging. You leave with a solid theoretical framework and the tools to begin teaching healthy populations in a variety of settings. Move well. Teach well. Be well.™

Course Pre-requisites

Anatomy for Motion (included in Module 1)
6 Hrs

** If you have already completed a recognized minimum 6-hour anatomy program within the last 5 years, the Anatomy for Motion course is not required. ** This course literally changes the way you think about, observe, and feel human movement. Fun and interactive, the human structure comes alive, and you gain new insights into how the body moves from different perspectives. The ultimate goal of this course is to help you understand how movement is produced at all major joints, which lays the groundwork for accurate neuromuscular recruitment, joint mobility, and core control.
